Ardyce Schwenka, 89 years of age from Minden, formerly of Upland, NE died Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. John's Catholic Church in Minden with Father James Benton officiating. Burial will be in the Upland Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at the Craig Funeral Home in Minden on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Ardyce was born on April 26, 1927 in Norman, Nebraska to Chris and Hilma (Pearson) Virden. She graduated from Minden High School in 1945. Ardyce worked at Hested's in Minden. On August 7, 1947, she married Robert "Bob " Schwenka. They made their home in Upland. Ardyce worked at the bank in Upland and then they owned and operated Bob's IGA. They retired in 1985 and moved to Minden in 1994. Bob died in 2002.

Survivors include her sister, Joyce Roggenkamp of Lincoln; special friend, Barb Lynn of Minden; 2 nieces and 1 nephew. She is preceded in death by her husband; brother in-law, Ron Roggenkamp; a brother and a sister.
