Bruce L. Mildfeldt, 57, of Minden, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Kearney County Health Services in Minden. Celebration of life services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden with the Rev. William Zwick officiating. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials in Bruce's honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.
Bruce Lawton Mildfeldt was born on July 24, 1967 in Central City to Francis and Sharon (Hansen) Mildfeldt. He grew up in the Minden area and attended school at Minden Public School and Central Community College.
He was united in marriage to Merry Fries on June 3, 1989 in Minden and to this union, two children were born: Schuyler and Brant. The family made their home in Minden where he was employed by King of Cars, Pioneer Village Restaurant, Big Johns Ford, Midway Chevrolet, Killion Motors, and Napa Auto Parts.
Bruce was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the NRA, National Wild Turkey Federation, National Trapshooter Association, and the Republican Party. He enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, turkey and deer hunting, cars, drag racing, antique, and learning American and local history. Bruce loved watching his family in all their activities, and he was always looking for the next adventure.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 35 years, Merry (Fries) Mildfeldt of Minden; daughter, Schuyler Lewis, and husband, Austin, of Kenesaw; son, Brant Mildfeldt of Minden; grandchildren, Bennett Rinhart, Clara Lewis, and Ash Lewis; mother, Sharon Hansen Mildfeldt Waldon of Minden; mother-in-law, Jean Ford of Minden; brother, Jeff Mildfeldt and wife, Amy of Minden; sisters, Twila Slezak, and husband, Mark, of Bartlett, TN, and Regina Bauer, and husband, John, of rural Valentine; brother-in-law, Scott Fries of Heartwell; sister-in-law, Teresa Melroy, and husband, Steve, of Minden; as well as a host of extended relatives and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frances Mildfeldt; grandparents, William and Margrete Mildfeldt, and Victor and Aldena Hansen; father-in-law, Bob Fries; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
