Dale John Quadhamer was born on January 27, 1936 to John and Frieda (nee Hemje) Quadhamer, Jr. in Hildreth, Nebraska.
After Dale graduated from Hildreth High School in 1953, he joined the United States Army and served in the Old Guard (the U.S. 3rd Infantry Regiment) reaching the rank of E5.
On May 25, 1958, Dale married June Johnson at Fredericksburg Lutheran Church (south of Minden) and went on to have two children: Diane Murray (Omaha) and Mike Quadhamer (Colorado Springs). Shortly after Dale left the Army in 1961, he started a trenching and backhoe business. He dug many basements, water lines, sewer lines, and graves (among other things) throughout the years. Dale was a true artist with a backhoe. He did this until he retired in 2013.
More importantly, Dale left a lasting legacy of integrity, hard work, humility, and caring for others. He exemplifies the hymn "They Will Know We are Christians by Our Love" as he would sometimes get "caught" doing good things for others but would have preferred anonymity. His quiet strength was a powerful witness to God's love for us all.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, June; children, Diane (Terry) Murray, and Mike (Amanda) Quadhamer; his grandchildren, Kyle Murray, Ally (Grant) Shandy, Jake Quadhamer; step-grandchildren, Brian (Jessica) Murray, and Brandy (Travis) Meyer; his brother, Gilbert (Judy) Quadhamer; his sisters, Val Jean (Leon) Stadler, and Sylvia Bjorklund; and his sister-in-law, Karen Meyer. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who were very dear to his heart.
Preceding him in death are his parents, John and Frieda Quadhamer; brother-in-law, Warren Bjorklund; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred (Dean) Johnson, Leroy (Marie) Johnson, Harold Johnson, and Helen (Richard) Larsen.
