Diana J. Vannier passed away March 4, 2017 in Lincoln, NE. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden with Reverend Donald Hunzeker officiating. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden on Friday from 7-8 p.m.
She was born February 4, 1951 in Genoa, Nebraska to Aaron and Clara Farmer and baptized at the EBU church in Monroe, Nebraska. Diana moved to Minden with her family, where she was confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church and graduated from Minden High School. She later graduated from Grand Island Business School. On April 4, 1970 she married Lonnie Vannier and they settled in Gothenburg, Nebraska, where they had two sons. Diana was a caring, strong matriarch for the family, as they relocated several times over the years. She was an amazing and loving wife and mother; serving as a den mother, helping in classrooms, and filling the role of Luther League Sponsors. In addition to her dedication to her family, Diana also served as a bookkeeper and finance manager for several car dealerships in her life. She also loved dogs and enjoyed trips to see the Sandhill cranes.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Clara Farmer, and her father and mother-in-law, Don and Gloria Vannier. She is survived by her husband Lonnie, son Jameson and fiancé Kerry, son Darby and wife Erica, two granddaughters, Breanna Hiner and Bianca Vannier, brother Jerry Farmer and wife Charlene, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Scott and Deb Johnson, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mike and Tami Ellis, and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
