Euella M. Johnson, 93, of Minden, formerly of Upland, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Bethany Home in Minden. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Minden United Methodist Church with the Rev. Peter Choi and PMA Julie Schmidt officiating. The service will be live streamed to the church's Facebook and YouTube pages. Interment will be held following the service at the Upland Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church. Memorials in Euella's honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Euella Mae was born on April 16, 1929 near Upland to Roy and Alice (Sinnen) Detrick. She grew up in the Upland area and graduated with the Upland High School class of 1946. On May 23, 1946, she was united in marriage to John N. Johnson in Minden and to this union, four children were born: Linda, Douglas, Rita, and Todd. The couple celebrated 71 years of marriage prior to John's passing in 2017.

The family made their home near Norman and in 1961, moved to a farm near Upland. Euella was a member of the Upland United Methodist Church and later the Minden United Methodist Church. She was a stay at home Mom while her children grew up. She had large gardens and canned a lot. She raised chickens for food and eggs. She also worked for a short time at the Fashion Shoppe in Minden and later cooked for Creative Care for many years until retiring at the age of 82. Euella moved to Bethany Home Assisted Living in 2018.

John and Euella loved playing Bingo. She was a Husker fan whether it be football, volleyball, basketball, or baseball. Euella was also a loyal Royals baseball fan and loved the Game Show Channel.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Linda (Thadd) Heberling of Sioux Falls, SD, and Rita (Steve) Crooks of Minden; son, Todd Johnson of Hastings; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Gary (Betty Jo) Johnson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, Douglas; daughter-in-law, Nancy; sisters, Virginia (Cliff) Borchers and Shirley (Allen) Meiner; sister-in-law, Norma (Delmar) Jacobsen; brothers-in-law, Lee (Ruth) Johnson, Floyd (Naomi) Johnson; father and mother-in-law, Fred (Esther) Johnson; and nephew, Gayle Borchers.
