Obituary

Faye Lynn Cherry, 56, of Hildreth, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 at her home. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hildreth with the Rev. Caroline Keenan officiating. Current recommendations for faith based services will be followed and the use of a face mask is encouraged. Inurnment will be held following services at the Hildreth Cemetery. There will be no visitation as the family has honored Faye's wish for cremation. Memorials in Faye's honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Craig Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Faye was born on September 16, 1963 in Kearney to John Gerald and Lila Faye (Riggs) Schmidt. She grew up in the Macon and Hildreth area and attended school in Hildreth, where she graduated with the class of 1981.

On February 25, 1983, she was united in marriage to Robert L. Cherry at the First Baptist Church in Kearney. The couple lived in Kearney until moving to Hildreth in 1989, where Faye was employed by Mosaic at Bethphage Village in Axtell.

Faye was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hildreth. Her hobbies included stamping handmade greeting cards, crafts, embroidery, reading novels, shopping, and spending time with family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert Cherry of Hildreth; brother, Dale Schmidt and wife Barb of St. Paul, NE; sister, Lori Wagner of Palm Harbor, FL; as well as a host of extended relatives and friends.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Karen Lee.
