Jim Yant, 79 years of age from Minden, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at his home in Minden. Celebration of Life services will be on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John's Catholic Church in Minden, Nebraska with Father James Benton officiating. Burial will be in the in Minden Cemetery prior to the memorial service. Visitation will be at the Craig Funeral Home in Minden on Wednesday from 4-6 p.m.

James P. Yant, born November 5, 1936 in Heartwell, NE to Virgil & Clara (Munk) Yant.

James was united in marriage to Mary Evelyn Hoban on August 19, 1961. To this union 4 children were born. Jim and Mary owned Daylight Donut for 27 years.
Jim enjoyed reading Louis Lamar, playing cribbage, skip-bo and taking care of his "small farm" per his grandson Raider, he also enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer, his introduction to electronics.

Survived by wife Mary of 55 years, children Lisa Block of Lincoln, NE, Theresa Yant-Warnke & husband Dean of Phillips, NE, Jerome Yant & wife Teri of Lincoln, NE. Grandchildren Michael, Molly & Jake, Lindsey & JR, Sidney, Eli & Raider. Siblings: Lora (Dean) Juranek of Campbell, NE; Ray (Karen) Yant of Ankeny, IA; Kathy Senior of Columbus, NE; Carolyn (Sam) Magruder of Roswell, GA; Jack (Sue) Yant of Minden, NE and Mary (Matt) Kampfe of Kearney, NE. In-laws: Robert (Patricia) Hoban, Roswell, OK; Mike (Jayne) Hoban, Minden, NE; Donald (Cheryl) Hoban of Hastings, NE; Paul (Sandi) Hoban of Pueblo West, CO; Arlene (Mrs. Bill) Hoban, Wasaw, MO. Preceded in death by: son, Jim; parents Virgil & Clara Yant; in-laws Mike Senior, Jack and Lois Hoban and Bill Hoban.

Family has requested casual attire for his celebration service.
