Kenneth "Kenny" Ray Dornhoff, 89 years of age from Minden, NE passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Kearney County Health Service-Long Term Care in Minden. Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John's Catholic Church in Minden with Father James
Benton officiating. Visitation will be at the Craig Funeral Home in Minden on Wednesday, September 27, 2017from 3-5 p.m. Rosary will be recited at the church Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m.
Kenny was born on May 14, 1928 in Heartwell, NE to Henry and Pansey (Burchell) Dornhoff. He grew up in the Heartwell area and graduated from Heartwell High School.
On November 17, 1948 he married Jacqueline "Jacque" Haws in Heartwell. They farmed in the Heartwell area. They moved into Minden in 1999. Jacque and Kenny enjoyed spending time at their cabin at Johnson Lake; fishing, water skiing and golfing. They wintered in Brownsville, TX; also traveled to many destinations.
Kenny was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Heartwell until moving to Minden and then joined the St. John's parish. Kenny was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Heartwell Lions Club.
Survivors include two sons, Ron Dornhoff and John Dornhoff both of Heartwell; daughter, Julie Dornhoff and special friend, Dan Hutt of Johnson Lake; daughter in-law, Goldie Dornhoff of Heartwell; brother in-law, Robert Greisen of Minden; nine grandchildren; Jason Dornhoff & friend Ruth, Malcom Dornhoff & wife Nicole, Jennifer tenBensel & husband Joe, Carrie Ann Geiger & husband Will, Matthew Dornhoff & wife Ashley, Audra Akhurst & husband Darren, Isaac Naughtin, Felice Sikes & husband Casey & Stanley Dornhoff and twelve great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jacque; son Richard; brothers Dale and Herb and sisters, Pauline Schneider and Bonnie Greisen.
Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation for research or to St. John's Altar society.
