Marvin Evon Harms was born on May 25, 1938 in rural Franklin County to Oltman H. and Martha M. (Kuster) Harms. He grew up in the Franklin area and graduated from Franklin High School with the class of 1959. On September 6, 1959, he was united in marriage to Jeannette Ann Fegter and to this union five children were born: Rhodell, Marilyn, Lynn, Janelle, and Gaylin. The family made their home near Hildreth where Marvin farmed and sold NC+ Seed for many years before retiring.

Marvin was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Macon Lions Club. He enjoyed playing bingo, farming, attending coffee club with friends, playing 4-point pitch, and spending time with friends and family. He also loved helping Gaylin with his racecar and demolition derby car, and Lynn with his truck.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Lynn and wife Jeanne Harms of Hildreth, Gaylin Harms of Hildreth, and Janelle Harms of Kearney; six grandchildren: Jacob Harms, Dakota Harms, Christopher Loffelholtz, Brandon Loffelholtz, Aubree Winkle, and Shari Clark; nine great-grandchildren (and one on the way); brother, Leroy Harms and wife Carol of Franklin; as well as a host of extended relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeannette in 2010; and children, Rhodell and Marilyn.
