Kevin E. Eaton

Kevin E. Eaton, 61, of Minden, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Minden United Methodist Church with Rev. Peter Choi officiating. The service will be live-streamed to the church’s Facebook and YouTube pages. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service times at the church. Cremation will take place following the service. Private family interment will be held at a later date. Memorials in Kevin’s honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Craig Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Kevin Eugene Eaton was born on June 17, 1960 in McCook, Nebraska to Francis and Vera (Ackermann) Eaton. At a young age the family moved to Arvada, Colorado where Kevin grew up and attended school. He graduated from Arvada High School with the class of 1978. On September 27, 1979, he was united in marriage to Rickee K. Sommers and to this union, three boys were born: Brad, Derek, and Brandon. The family made their home in Arvada where Kevin was employed in commercial freight transportation. The family later moved to Minden. Kevin was an avid collector of guns, enjoyed shooting and re-loading, and working on his house and lawn. He was also a talented gardener. Kevin was a true Star-Trek fan and also loved John Wayne movies. He liked to fish, watch the Denver Broncos, and he occasionally enjoyed watching the Huskers play football…depending on the season. He will forever be remembered for his trademark “crooked walk” and his 1968 Fastback Ford Mustang. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Rickee of Minden; sons, Brad (Stephanie) Eaton of Westminster, CO; Derek Eaton of Minden; mother, Vera Eaton of Indiana; grandchildren, Danielle Beasley and Alex Romano of Westminster, CO; brothers, John (Twyla) Eaton of Arizona, and Rob (Maggie) Eaton of Colorado; sister, Deb Twisselman of Indiana; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
