LeeIsla Mae (Bremer) Wommer was born on July 1, 1932, on a farm northwest of Boelus, Nebraska to Emil and Clara (Becker) Bremer. She was baptized as a baby and later confirmed at Ebenezer Methodist Church of Boelus.
She attended District 66, and then attended Boelus High School, graduating in May 1949. After graduation, she worked at the Lutheran Hospital and Bell Toll Telephone, both located in Grand Island, Nebraska. She later worked at Kearney County Community Hospital in the dietary department until the passing of her husband.
LeeIsla met the love of her life, Virgil R. Wommer, and they were married on October 17, 1954, at the United Methodist Church in Grand Island. To this union, three children were born: Anna Lillian, Esther Karen, and William Karl.
They made their home on the farm northeast of Minden. They lived on the farm until Virgil's retirement and moved to Minden in 1993. Leelsla remained in their home until her health didn't allow her to stay there.
LeeIsla was active in the Methodist Church, and a charter member of the Liberty Belles Extension Club. She enjoyed life on the farm, helping Virgil with the farming and the animals. Her hobbies included gardening, embroidery, and reading. She enjoyed the little things like helping her children as time allowed. She loved the time she spent at family dinners, and the holidays.
