December 30, 1964 - March 9, 2022
Charles “Chuck” E. Watson, 57, of Axtell, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Celebration of Life Kingdom services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Zion Chapel at Mosaic in Axtell with Rev. John Gosswein officiating. Private family interment will be held at a later date. Memorials in Chuck’s honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Craig Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Chuck was born on December 30, 1964 in Orlando, FL and was adopted at a young age by Lanier Watson and Rebecca Beeler. Chuck was very advanced at a young age and was quite athletic – climbing trees at the age of 2 ½. Shortly before age 5, he began having epileptic seizures and his condition gradually worsened. The family made their home in Portland, TN, Omaha, NE and Chuck later moved to Mosaic in Axtell at the age of 18. He resided there at Home Emmaus for 39 years until the time of his passing. Chuck’s parents visited him as often as possible, which he enjoyed. Chuck loved interacting with the staff and residents, although his behavior was often difficult to control; he seemed to be a favorite with them. Chuck loved the woods, his favorite food was pizza, and he loved to sing! One of the staff members at Mosaic even taught him several lines of Shakespeare. Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Lanier Watson of Oregon and Rebecca Beeler of Texas; brothers, Michael Watson and Timothy Watson; as well as a host of extended relatives and friends from Mosaic. Tributes and memories can be shared with the family at www.craigfunerals.com.
