Glenn D. Wolfe Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Glenn D. Wolfe, 75, of Minden, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the Lancaster Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, NE with the Rev. Clint Walker officiating. The service will be streamed to the funeral home’s Facebook page. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Craig Funeral Home in Minden. The casket will be closed. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Disabled American Veterans Organization, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH. 45250-0301 or K9 Freekz, 3611 Avenue L, Kearney, NE. 68847. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden. Glenn was born in Harlan, Iowa, on October 26, 1946, to Roy and Opal (Dale) Wolfe. As the son of an Army Master Sergeant, he lived in several states and foreign countries. With the family eventually settling in Kearney, Nebraska. Glenn attended Kearney High School, then enlisted into the United States Marine Corp in 1964. Glenn fought in the Vietnam War, receiving a purple heart for injuries sustained in combat. He was honorably discharged in January of 1970. Glenn was married to Itiline M. Kyle on May 28, 1965, from this union three children were born. As their relationship turned out to be less permanent than either expected, Glenn went on to marry Arlene Register on July 28, 1972, from this union two children were born. Glenn was an animal control officer for a period of time. Eventually, becoming a long haul semi-truck owner operator until retiring in 2015. Glenn was always accompanied by his trusted companion Blacktop (Toy Poodle) whether on the road, around the house or in town. He enjoyed working in his yard, collecting military memorabilia, model semi-trucks and cars. Glenn is survived by his children, Michael W. Wolfe, Daniel (Lisa) Wolfe, Deanna M. Wolfe, Amy Thorell-Fuchs and Brian Thorell; his 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; his siblings Donald (Kay) Wolfe, Kandi Wolfe and Tami Kearns; his nieces and nephews; and the rest of his family and friends. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents.
