Andrew Theron King, 53, of Axtell, Nebraska, passed away on April 17, 2019, at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday April 24, 2019 at the Craig Funeral Home in Minden with Julie Schmidt officiating. Interment will be held following services at Hildreth Cemetery. Memorials in Andrew's honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Craig Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Andrew was born on February 26, 1966, in Hastings, to Darrell V. and Sharon K. (Schurmann) King. He grew up in the Holdrege area, and in 1968, became a resident of now Mosaic at Bethphage campus in Axtell, where he resided until his passing.
Andrew loved his life at Mosaic and found meaning in his art classes and spending time with the staff and with friends; from watching movies and TV, he truly loved life. He also attended church regularly at the Bethphage campus.
He is survived by his sisters, Tammy Hilker, Kim Polenske, and Teresa Strackbein; brothers, Mike Pruitt, Vaughn King, and Bobby King; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Sharon (Schurmann) King; maternal grandparents, Carrie and Andrew Schurmann, and paternal grandparents, Theron and Nina (Miller) King.
