Barbara K. Lynn, 80, of Minden, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Bethany Home in Minden. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden with Rev. William Zwick officiating. The service will be streamed to the church's YouTube page. Private family inurnment will be held prior to services at the Fredericksburg Lutheran Cemetery, south of Minden. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Barb's honor are kindly suggested to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden, the Minden Senior Center or to Kearney County Historical Society. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Barb was born on December 4, 1945, in Minden, to Rubin N. and Louella M. (Ostman) Shannon. She grew up in Minden and graduated from Minden High School with the class of 1964. Barb worked for many years in county government, where she served as County Treasurer for Kearney County until retirement.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden. Barb enjoyed western music, camping and fishing at Harlan County Reservoir. She loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her pets and had a special bond with her dog, Maggie.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Denise Rich of Minden, and Rhonda Lynn of Burlington, VT; grandchildren, Amanda (Paul) Breyer, Melissa (Tyler) Kornfeld, and Jody Rich; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Hunter Breyer, and Sadie Kornfeld; special friend, Reed Danielson; as well as a host of extended relatives and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Dennis A. Petersen, and Jim Lynn; sisters, Roma Virden, and Charlotte Smith.
