Obituary

Billy T. Waldon, 77, of Minden, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Omaha VA Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Minden Cemetery. A family coordinated memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden with Rev. William Zwick officiating. Memorials in Billy's honor are kindly suggested to the family for future designation. Craig Funeral Home in Minden is assisting the family.

Billy T. Waldon was born on February 28, 1948, to Billy Ray and Ora Lillian (Birchfield) Waldon in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He faithfully served in the United States Navy as a crewman. Billy served on two ships during his time in the Navy and made stops at multiple different ports. During his life, Billy lived in Michigan, California for 10 years, then Kearney and Minden, Nebraska. After moving to Nebraska, he worked as a sound man for Rock 101.5.

He was united in marriage to Sharon Lucille (Hansen) Mildfeldt on March 14, 2014. One of his favorite memories about Sharon was their first kiss.

Billy enjoyed playing the piano and football. His favorite car was his white GTX. He made hundreds of model cars and even won an award for one he made when he was younger. Billy's favorite music group was the Beach Boys, and his favorite song was Wipe Out.

He will be remembered for his words of wisdom: "Think about what you are going to do, how you are going to do it and what you are going to do with it."

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Sharon of Minden; step-children, Twila (Mark) Slezak, Regina (John) Bauer, and Jeff (Amy) Mildfeldt; step-daughter-in-law, Merry Fries Mildfeldt; grandchildren, Heather (Steven) Coleman, Rachel Elkin (Justin Gendron), Joseph (Margaret Matthews) Slezak, Stacy Bauer, Erin (Garrett) Willyard, David Bauer, Schuyler (Austin) Lewis, and Brant Mildfeldt; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jerry (Carol) Miller, Jack Gant, Ed Richardson, Penny Doty, Roxie Kemp, and Jeanine (Eugene) Crummel; as well as a host of extended relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora and Billy; step-mother, Lillian; and step-son, Bruce Mildfeldt.
