Buddy M. DeWeese, 48 years of age from Axtell, NE passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Services will be held at a later date. Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of arrangements.

Buddy was born on July 2, 1968 in Nurnberg, Germany to Lonnie and Ellamae (Mizner) DeWeese. He graduated from Kearney High School in 1987.

On June 1, 1991 he married Martha Harvey in Benkleman, NE and to this union one son, Cory was born.

Buddy was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed Scouting with Troop 136, especially canoeing the Boundary Waters of Minnesota. Spending time with his father at Mountainman Rendezvous', and playing Rook at family gatherings were special to Buddy. Buddy was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He and Martha owned and operated Pallets and More for 15 years.

Buddy is survived by his wife, Martha; son, Cory; father Lonnie (Bev) DeWeese; mother Ellamae DeWeese and special friend, Tom McCoy; sisters, Laci McCall, Sheyanne (Keith) Harders, brother, Shayne, sister–n-law, Kelly DeWeese; nephews, Gregg (Brittney) DeWeese and family, Chris (Natasha) DeWeese and family; nieces, Adelyn Harders, Neala McCall and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, mother in-law and father in-law, Jim and Mary Ann Harvey, brother, Monte and sister, Shantel DeWeese.

Memorials are suggested to the family or to the Axtell Fire and Rescue unit.
