Caryl Joan Ecklund died on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 in Loup City, Nebraska, at age 86. She was born October 18, 1937, in Paxton, Illinois, to Carl and Viola (Lindgren) Ecklund. Caryl was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Paxton. She graduated from Paxton High School in 1956. For most of her adult life she lived in Axtell and Kearney, Nebraska. The last few years she was a resident of Rose Lane Home in Loup City.

Surviving Caryl are her sister, Diane Ecklund Knudsen of Boulder, Colorado, a nephew, David Knudsen (Sarah Lonsdale) of St. Helena, California, a niece, Karen Knudsen (Timothy Bechtold) of Missoula, Montana, and their families, Conrad and Imogen Knudsen, and Stellan and Bente Bechtold. She was predeceased by her parents, her aunt and uncle Paul and Ruth Smith, and her brother-in-law, Donald Knudsen.

Cremation has occurred; burial will be in Glen Cemetery, Paxton, Illinois. Private family services will occur at a later date. Services have been provided by Craig Funeral Home in Minden, Nebraska, and Baier Family Funeral Services in Paxton, Illinois.
