Charles Allen LaFile, 71, of Axtell, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at his home in Axtell. Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Ragan United Methodist Church with Chaplain DeWane Dow officiating. There will be no visitation as the family is honoring his wishes to be cremated. Private family inurnment will be held at the Freewater Cemetery near Ragan.
Charles was born on August 2, 1946 in Omaha, NE to Armand and Margaret (Reed) LaFile. He attended school in the Elkhorn area, graduating from Elkhorn High School in 1964. Charles worked in Maintenance at Bethphage Mission in Axtell and later worked as a mechanic for Rite Way in Holdrege.
Survivors include his son, Chuck LaFile and wife Lesley of Kearney; daughter, Patricia LaFile of Mansfield, TX; grandchildren, Bailey Bollwitt, Zachary Girtz and Harlan Richards; brother, Richard LaFile and wife Agni of Crete, Greece; brother-in-law, George McNiel of Ragan; nephew, Ricardos LaFile and Niece, Pandelitsa LaFile as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sandra McNiel.
