Christopher M. Vahl, 53, of Upland, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at his home in Upland. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials in Chris’ honor are kindly suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Christopher Michael Vahl was born September 6, 1973, in St. Louis, Missouri. At a young age he and his brother were lovingly adopted by Ronald W. and Karen L. (Johnson) Vahl. Chris grew up in Seward, Nebraska until moving to Canada in 1984. Chris graduated from high school in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1992. Chris moved back to St. Louis in 2001, when he began taking care of his mother. He affectionately cared for her up until her passing in June of 2025.

Following Karen’s passing, Chris moved to Upland to be near his brother. Chris had a love of online gaming and coding. He was an avid reader of science fiction novels and was also a talented writer. Most recently, Chris had been working on completing several manuscripts. He was employed by Mower Medic in Minden where he specialized in handling their online sales.

Chris will be greatly missed by his brother, Corey Vahl and wife, Leta; and their children, Kaitlyn, Cheyenne, and Hunter; his uncle, Warford B. “John” Johnson, II and wife Jane Ann; cousins, Warford B. “Tracy” Johnson, III, and Ian Johnson; along with a host of extended relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
