Clayton "Gene" E. Myers, 91, Minden resident, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Country House Residence in Grand Island. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Craig Funeral Home in Minden. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Minden Cemetery. Clayton "Gene" E. Myers was born on October 1, 1933, in Mead, OK to Thurman E. and Jewel (Bridges) Myers. His family moved around to several places, and he graduated from Dexter, NM.

He was married to Beverly Wilsey on May 2, 1953, in Winter, SD. They moved to Minden in 1968. Gene worked for Eaton Corporation in Kearney for 23 years, retiring in 2002.

Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and crafts. He also spent a lot of time tending to his garden and yard. Gene loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Michael Myers and wife, Sharon of Minden; daughter, Peggy Benson and husband, Bentley of Lincoln; grandchildren, Bentley J. Benson and wife, Jamie, Brent Michael Benson, Corie Ann Layton and husband, Eric, Thomas Myers, Kate Lewis, Leslie Leach and husband, Chris and Nicholas Gongwer; many great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Myers and wife, Wanda of Kearney; as well as a host of extended relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly; brother, Charles Myers; and sisters, Velma Lorraine Jones and Opal Pauline Clayborn.
