Obituary

Coleen Elizabeth Clark (nee Yocum), 69, of Minden, passed away in the final weeks of December 2023 after a fierce battle with hereditary liver disease. Celebration of life services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Minden Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Tom Barnes officiating. The service will be streamed to the church's YouTube page. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania. Memorials in Coleen's honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

She was born in Pennsylvania in 1954 to John and Joan Yocum. After graduating from Lewisburg Area High School in 1972, she studied Journalism at Christ for the Nations Institute.

After graduation, she moved to Texas and eventually married and had her only child, Aaron.

After her marriage ended in 1987, she moved back to PA to be closer to her family.

In 1992, she moved to Southern Florida, where she had a long career in property management.

She moved to Nebraska in 2013 after the Florida economy crashed and could not find work.
After several years of working as an activity director at various senior centers, Coleen retired and focused on her writing.

Her first book, "I Fell for Paris," was published through Amazon Kindle Publishing in 2020.

She loved art, history, and music. She spent her final days researching for her next book and learning multiple foreign languages.

She was predeceased in death by her father, John Yocum, and her nephew, Benjamin Culton.

She is survived by her mother, Joan Emery of Mifflinburg, PA, sisters Barbara Culton of Harleysville, PA, and Kim Sadler of Quakertown, PA, brothers Thomas Yocum of Charlotte, NC, and James Emery of Mifflinburg, PA, son Aaron Clark of Minden, grandchildren Kaden Wesley Clark and Patrick Byron Clark of Minden, and ten nieces and nephews.
