Connie Bates, 65 years of age from Minden, NE passed away shortly after being admit to Kearney County Health Services Hospital in Minden. Memorial services will be on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden with Rev. Christopher Hazzard officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be prior to the memorial service. Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of arrangements.

Connie was born on January 8, 1952 in Minden, NE to Duane and Shirley (Rupprecht) Christiansen. She grew up in the Minden area and graduated from Minden High School in 1970. On July 24, 1972 she married Lanny Bates, and they lived in Minden.

Connie was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was a daycare provider to both young and old. She retired seven years ago because of health issues. She loved spending time with her family, having coffee with her friends and attending Saturday garage sales. Memorials are suggested to the family.

Survivors include her husband, Lanny of Minden; two children, Christi (Kevin) Burdette of Gilbert, AZ and Jason (Kaci) Bates of Minden; two step children, Brian Bates of Phoenix, AZ and Pam Miller of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Braden Bates, and Caileigh and Kennah Burdette; two step grandchildren, Tyler and Makayla Miller; and aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Terry Christiansen and his wife, Nancy and nephew, Tim Christiansen.
