Craig D. Longsine, 66, of Minden, passed away peacefully with family by his side at Bethany Home in Minden on Monday, November 11, 2024. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2024 at Craig Funeral Home in Minden with Pastor Darren Popple officiating. Inurnment will be held following the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Axtell. A memorial book signing will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2024 with family present. Memorials in Craig's honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.
Craig D. Longsine was born on June 13, 1958 in Holdrege, NE to Keith (Bud) and Marilynn (Warner) Longsine. He attended Holdrege public schools and graduated with the class of 1976.
He worked at Gleason's Meat Market for several years, the Nebraska Department of Roads, Hasty Lanes as the "Moonlight Bowling" announcer and Bethphage Mission as the warehouse manager. After moving to Minden, Craig held the proud title of "Produce Man" at the local IGA grocery store.
Craig's passion was bowling and enjoyed his time on bowling leagues in Holdrege and Minden. He was recognized and applauded for bowling a 286 (10 strikes) in one game! He loved to watch trains and listen to the local radio and police scanners. He also cherished daily visits from the neighborhood cat, Emmett.
On July 24, 1992, Craig was united in marriage to Linda Hunt. In July of 1993, he became a proud father when he adopted Linda's son, Joshua, who was 9 at the time. He loved being a Dad and enjoyed all of Josh's activities and friends.
Craig was preceded in death by son, Josh, wife, Linda, mother, Marilynn, grandparents, Lee and Minnie Longsine and grandparents, Charles and Helen Warner.
Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Keith (Bud) Longsine of Holdrege; sisters, Lori Behnken (Todd McMeekin) of Osceola and Janean (Warren) Hahn of Shelton; nephews, Tyler and Troy Behnken; nieces, Amber (George) Gil, Alisha Behnken, Emily (Ryan) Kegley, and Lindsey (Dave Jr.) Hochstetler; great nephews, Dominick, Carmello and Connor; great nieces, Deztinie, Hailey, Harlyn, and Ava; as well as a host of extended relatives and friends.
