Debora "Deb" J. McCully, 68, of Kearney, NE, formerly of Minden, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden, with Rev. Donald Hunzeker and PMA Julie Schmidt officiating. The service will be streamed to the church's YouTube page. A luncheon will be held following the service at the church. Private family interment will take place prior to services at the Minden Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at the Kearney American Legion Hall from 3-5:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Deb was born on February 18, 1956, in Minden, to Norma "Granny" Virgene (Berggren) Samuelson and Estel "Sam" C. Samuelson. She grew up in the Kearney/Minden area and attended school at Minden High School, graduating with the class of 1974.

She was a member of several clubs including the Lions Club, the Legion Club, and Elks Club. She enjoyed serving and cooking and frequently volunteered to make meals for friends and family. She enjoyed gardening, canning and sharing her bounty with others. She also enjoyed fishing. She enjoyed cocktail hours with her many friends, where they spent countless hours giggling and laughing. She also enjoyed playing cards and cribbage with her many friends. No one was a stranger to her – only friends she hadn't yet met.

Survivors include her son, Jon McCully (Jessica); two grandsons, Keygan McCully and Callen McCully; a sister, Diane Ring; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Christopher Cole McCully; brothers, David Samuelson, and Dennis Samuelson; nephews, Chad Fritson, Jeff Winingham, and Shane Samuelson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
