Dolores E. Jorgensen, 93, of Minden, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Bethany Home in Minden. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden with Rev. Donald Hunzeker and PMA Julie Schmidt officiating. Private family inurnment will be held prior to the service at Minden Cemetery. A memorial book signing will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Craig Funeral Home in Minden. Memorials in Dolores' honor are kindly suggested to Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.
Dolores Eileen (Krueger) Jorgensen was born on July 25, 1930 to Carl and Ethel (Rasmussen) Krueger on a farm near Glenvil, NE. She was baptized October 12, 1930 at the Lutheran church in Glenvil by Rev. Eric Neyer. When Dolores was 12 years old, her family moved to a farm near Minden. She was confirmed May 6, 1945 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden by Rev. Alfred Andersen, and graduated from Minden High School with the class of 1947. She attended Business College in Lincoln and was employed in Minden for several years.
She was married to Perry D. Jorgensen on March 15, 1953. They farmed together near Minden until retiring and moving to Minden in 1992.
Dolores was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church serving as a Sunday school teacher, sewing group leader, and financial secretary of the church for many years. She also enjoyed attending bible studies and woman's circle.
She was also a member of the Literary Links, Hospital Auxiliary and Chapter N-PEO. Dolores enjoyed going to the turtle pool with friends, playing Some-R-Set and sporting events.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Greg Jorgensen and his wife, Sharon, of Minden, Jeff Jorgensen and his wife, Helena, of Elkhorn, Kim Winkelbauer and her husband, Paul, of Omaha, Lisa Jorgensen Peters and her husband, Mike, of Omaha, and Lori Kallenbach and her husband, Greg, of Rising City; grandchildren, Emily (Scott) Fuchs of Lawrence, KS, Scot (Katie) Jorgensen of Minden, Adam and Eric Winkelbauer of Omaha, Amber Stafko and Cameo Stafko (LJ Buck) of Council Bluffs, IA; great-grandchildren, Hank, Jack and Gus Fuchs of Lawrence, KS, KayLynn, Macy and Samantha Jorgensen of Minden, and Charlotte Buck of Council Bluffs, IA; brother, DuWayne (Marcia) Krueger of Minden; sister, Karen (Larry) Wilcox of Minden; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry, an infant son, granddaughter, Faith Winkelbauer, and her parents.
