Donald Leroy Klein, 67 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, February 13th, at Christian Homes in Holdrege.

Donald was born on July 24th, 1958, in Holdrege, Nebraska, and was the seventh of nine children born to Norman Sr. and Christina (Barnes) Klein. He attended Axtell Community Schools.

Donald served as an Armor Crewman in the Army National Guard from 1977 to 1984. He enjoyed fishing and collected wooden nickels. He spent many years as a monument stonemason for Holdrege Monument Company, retiring in 2022.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Rex Klein (in infancy), Michael Klein, and Norman Klein Jr.; and two sisters, Sandra Taylor and Theresa Bernstrauch.

Donald leaves to celebrate his life his daughter, Wendy Buhr, and her husband, Nathan, of Hastings, Nebraska; grandchildren, Payden Buhr and Brooklynn Buhr of Hastings; brothers, Steve Klein and his wife, Denise, of Holdrege, and Terry Klein of Holdrege; sister, Cindy Klein of Holdrege; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Per his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Family graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorials in Don's honor are kindly suggested a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.
