Obituary

Dwayne A. Sheldon, 62, of Minden, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Kearney County Health Services in Minden. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Craig Funeral Home in Minden with Rev. William Zwick officiating. Private family burial will be held at White Hill Cemetery, north of Minden. There will be no visitation or book signing. Memorials in Dwayne’s honor are kindly suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Dwayne Allen Sheldon was born on August 8, 1963, in Lexington to John M. and Carol S. (Puls) Sheldon (later Carol Robinson). He grew up in the Elwood and Eddyville area and attended school at Sumner-Eddyville-Miller. Dwayne was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He entered the United States Army until being discharged for medical reasons.

He worked for Conoco in Torrington, WY before moving back to Nebraska in 2008. Upon his return, Dwayne worked at the Chicken Coop in Kearney, Pizza Hut and A&M Ag in Minden.

Dwayne loved music, cars and movies, especially horror movies. He enjoyed watching the Huskers, Minnesota Viking football and WWE. He could proudly out-eat anyone as long as his favorite foods were served, which included tacos from Taco John’s and Cheetos. Dwayne loved spending time with his family. He will be fondly remembered by his ability to find joy in life’s simple moments.

Those left to cherish his memory include his siblings, Troy (Shannon) Sheldon of Redlands, CA, Marshall (Jennifer) Robinson of North Platte, NE, Darren Robinson of Haysville, KS, and Tammie (Jim) Runions of Minden, NE; special friend, Michele Hensley of Minden; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Nora Sheldon; maternal grandparents, Walter and Eilene Puls; and uncle, Jim Puls.
