Obituary

Glenn K. Jacobsen, 61, of Minden, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Good Samaritan Society – St. John's in Kearney, following a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minden with Rev. Evan Winter officiating. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at the Norman Cemetery. A memorial book signing will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minden, with Rosary services at 6:00 p.m. Memorials in Glenn's honor are kindly suggested to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minden. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Glenn K. Jacobsen was born on November 18, 1962 to Roland D. and Evelyn J. (Slater) Jacobsen in Fort Riley, KS. He grew up in the Norman area, attending Minden Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1981.

He was united in marriage to Catherine "Cathy" Glesinger at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Spalding, NE. The couple made their home in Minden, where Glenn worked in product development for Royal Engineered Composites for over 32 years.

Glenn had a wide range of hobbies and interests. He loved brewing his own beer, even learning to grow his own hops. He was a private person, but he cherished spending time with his family. He enjoyed collecting comic books, putting together puzzles and playing sudoku. He and Cathy enjoyed time spent at their cabin at Harlan County Reservoir. Glenn also enjoyed fishing. He was a very detail-oriented person. He had a love for old cars, especially his latest restoration project, his 1965 Impala SS. He enjoyed listening to music and attending concerts with Cathy.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Cathy; father, Roland "Rollie" Jacobsen of Norman; brother, Grant (Tammi) Jacobsen of Hastings; sister, Crystal (Bob) Johnson of Minden; parents-in-law, Edward and Grace Glesinger of Spalding; brothers-in-law, Matt (Mary) Glesinger of Spalding, Mike (Sarah) Glesinger of Alliance, and Mark Glesinger of Alliance; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Jacobsen.
