Helen Louise was born June 11, 1929 to Paul and Mildred (Moore) Burchell. She was raised in rural Minden. After graduating high school, she came to Lincoln for business school.

On November, 4, 1950, she was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Benner, Jr., They had three children. Marilyn (Bob) Niemoth of Nixa, MO, Patricia (Dorrance) Atherton of Lincoln, NE and Lee (Lori) Benner of Norfolk, NE; grandchildren, Michael (Amanda) Niemoth, Charles (Miranda) Niemoth, Kyle (Kim) Atherton, Leah (Ali) Zangeneh, 15 great-grandchildren.

She worked for the federal government.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Benner, Jr., and son-in-law, Robert Niemoth.

Helen volunteered at Gere library from January 1998 thru August of 2019. Logging 2,133 hrs and 45 minutes per their records. She enjoyed water aerobics class (clear into her 90's), bowling, playing cards, camping, fishing and recent hobby of playing bingo.

Memorial service will be held 3PM, Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 5200 R Street, Lincoln, NE. A private burial will be at the Minden Cemetery.
