Obituary

James "Jim" J. Jameson, 69, of Minden, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Nebraska Medicine Buffet Cancer Center in Omaha following a long battle with health issues. He was so tough and courageous dealing with these issues, and he was a fighter with all he had gone through. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden with Rev. Donald Hunzeker and PMA Julie Schmidt officiating. The service will be streamed to the church's YouTube page. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials in Jim's honor are kindly suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

James "Jim" Junior Jameson was born on January 17, 1956, in Campbell to James M. and Phyllis J. (Hughes) Jameson. He grew up in the Upland area, attending school there until junior high. Jim then attended Minden High School, graduating with the class of 1974.

He was united in marriage to Sherry Patro in September of 1978, and to this union, two children were born: Erin and Tyler. The couple later divorced, and in March of 1989 he was united in marriage to Julie Bernhardt and to this union, Whitney was born; and he lovingly accepted Travis and Alicia as his own. Following the couple's divorce, Jim was united in marriage to Lisa Fries on June 22, 2024.

Jim helped his Dad on the farm at a young age. As he got older, he worked as a farmhand for a while, he delivered O2 tanks for Island Supply Welding in Hastings, he worked at Morton Buildings in Minden, just to name a few, and anywhere people needed him. He had a lot of skills and could learn quickly, and he was always very reliable. He decided to start his own business in the spring of 1989 as "Jameson Painting". He was a hard worker with a drive and the determination to make it successful, so he was very proud of all that he was able to accomplish over the last 35 years.

Jim was so kind, and so generous, and such a loving man, who always had a smile on his face. He loved his family so much. He loved having all the kids and grandkids over for family dinners and arranging the big gathering for Christmas each year.

Jim loved riding his Harley as much as possible and took several long-distance trips with some special friends that created some great memories. He liked to play pool and play cards. Jim loved to listen to music and go out dancing with Lisa. He loved spending time outdoors with swimming pool parties and grilling in the backyard or just sitting in the swing in the evening talking about the day. Jim dearly loved his friends and spending time with them, maybe even having a cold one at his favorite local pub. He didn't know a stranger because he made friends so easily with his outgoing personality and his infectious and ornery smile with the mischievous sparkle in his amazing blue eyes. He was quick-witted and always had something funny to say to make others smile too. He was fearless and always ready and willing to try something new. He loved life and lived it to the fullest.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lisa Jameson of Minden; children, Erin Reid of Kearney, Tyler Jameson of Holdrege, Travis Bennett of Loveland, CO, Alicia Berglund of Kearney, and Whitney Kreutzer of Kearney; 13 grandchildren; brothers, Tobe Jameson and Joe Jameson; sisters, Connie Jameson and Danita Johansen; step-brothers, Tommy Jameson, Leon Jameson, and Dan Jameson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-sister, Kristal Jameson, and step-brother, John Jameson.
