Jean Kathryn Liebers was born February 17, 1936, on the family farm near Minden, to E. Max and Mary E. (Sandahl) Liebers. She grew up in the Minden area and graduated from Minden High School with the class of 1954. Growing up, Jean spent most of her time outside, being a tomboy and helping on the farm, especially while her brother Frederick was serving in the Army during the Korean Conflict. She also helped her mother in the garden, tending to the chickens, and with housework. Her mother passed away in 1972 and her father in 1988. Jean and her two brothers continued to reside at the family farm for many years.

She was a member of the Minden United Methodist Church, where she was baptized and confirmed. Jean began her professional career working for an attorney for 10 years. She was then offered a job in the Kearney County Court, where she worked for 36 years as Clerk of the County Court, until her retirement on February 28, 2001.

After Frederick passed away in 2004, Jean and her brother Stanley continued to live on the family farm until 2009, when health concerns necessitated their move to Haven Home in Kenesaw and later Bethany Home in Minden in 2010. Stanley passed away in 2014. Jean enjoyed the friendships she made with fellow residents and staff at Bethany Home. She was faithful in attending worship services and bible studies there and enjoyed their musical programs and playing bingo. Jean lived a simple but genuine life, often placing the needs of others before her own.

Those left to cherish her memory include several cousins and extended relatives, along with close friends and acquaintances from the Minden area.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers.
