Jeanette L. (Shada) Knox, 80, of Minden, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Bethany Home in Minden. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026 at First Christian Church in Minden with Kay Tira officiating. Inurnment will be held following the service at the Minden Cemetery. A celebration of life open house will be held following services at the Windmill Studios in Minden . Memorials in Jeanette's honor are kindly suggested to the First Christian Church in Minden or to Paws Up Kearney County. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.
Jeanette Lucile (Shada) Knox was born on October 30, 1945 in Campbell. She grew up in the Upland and Minden area, graduating from Minden High School with the class of 1964. Jeanette then furthered her education at Kearney State College.
She was blessed with four daughters: Georgette, Gennifer, Melissa and Melinda. The family made their home in Central Nebraska, where she worked at Cabela's and various area restaurants.
Jeanette was a member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed cherry icy drinks and baking. She was very independent and was always taking care of others. Jeanette loved spending time with family and attending the Shada and Harms family reunions.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Georgette (Marty) Walsh of Omaha, Gennifer Grogan of Red Cloud, Melissa (Casey) Williams of Broken Bow, and Melinda Grogan (David Frost) of Kearney; grandchildren, Brett Kreutzer, Brayden (Natasha) Walsh, Jarin Weaver, Allison (Justin) Crawford, Dane Grogan, Alex Torres, and Madden Grogan; great-grandchildren, Benton, Adalyn, Lincoln, Presley and Lydia; sister-in-law, Julie Shada; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Hilda Helen (Harms) Podewitz; brother, Lyle Shada; uncle, Nick Shada; nephews, Michael and Ryan Shada.
