Obituary

Jody Kay Lonn, 62, of Minden, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Bethany Home in Minden. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Funk with the Rev. Daren Popple officiating. Interment will be held following services at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service times at the church. Memorials in Jody's honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Craig Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jody was born on September 19, 1957 in Holdrege to Roger and Marlys (Nelson) Everett. She grew up and attended school in Holdrege, where she graduated with the Holdrege High School class of 1975. On June 8, 1975, she was united in marriage to Jerry A. Lonn in Holdrege. The couple was blessed with five children: Anthony, Betty, Siobhan, Stephanie, and Sway. The family later touched the lives and hearts of many children through their professional lives and participation with the foster care program.

Jody was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden. Her hobbies included collecting many different items that brought her joy, shopping, giving meaningful gifts to everyone she could, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Anthony (Joseph) Lonn of Sydney, Australia, Betty (Phil) Smith of Minden, Siobhan (Dustin) Ritterbush of Kearney, Stephanie (Clint) Brantley of Minden, and Sway Lonn of Kearney; grandchildren, Chase Smith, Joplin Smith, Anais Sowles, Haven Smith, Sonny Sowles, Arik Smith, Kalista Sowles, Jasper Smith, Hunter Ritterbush, Kathryn Ritterbush, Chloe Brantley, and Charley Greuter; mother, Marlys (Ron) Sundquist of Holdrege; sister, Melanie (Dale) Quackenbush of Lincoln; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry in 2014; father, Roger Everett; grandmother, Gladys Nelson; and grandson, Billy Sowles, Jr.
