John C. Glynn, 61, of Upland, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018 at his home in Upland. Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation as the family has honored John's wish to be cremated. Memorials in John's honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Craig Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
John Charles Glynn was born on January 31, 1957 in San Diego, CA to James Michael and Dolores Elizabeth (Shoemaker) Glynn. He grew up and attended school in the San Diego area. John worked as a deck boss in the commercial and sport fishing industry for many years. His passion was spending time at sea. John fished the waters of Alaska and Hawaii often and was known by many for his strong work ethic.
He moved to Upland, NE in 2015 where he was employed at the Gibbon Packing Company, Allmand Brothers and most recently, Casey's General Stores. His hobbies included spending time with family, traveling, going to casinos, loving life and bonding with his long-time fishing buddy, Kendall Marsh.
John was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Michelle and Rosemary Glynn.
Those left to cherish John's memory include his companion of 17 years, Wendi Doerr of Upland, NE; sisters, Maureen Sterling of San Diego, CA and Rene Glynn of Riverside, CA; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
