John Howard Maxon, 39 of Minden, NE, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, after complications from colorectal cancer. There will be no visitation as cremation was chosen. A private graveside service will be conducted at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. The Craig Funeral Home in Minden is assisting the family.

John was born in 1986 in Grand Island Nebraska to Howard L. and Colleen A. (Boerkircher) Maxon. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Grand Island. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 2005.

John studied computer science at the Community College in Grand Island. He was employed at Skagway, Fifth Street Food Pride, Casey's and Boogaart's. He loved customer service and interacting with customers and his fellow employees. He was also a part of the family business – Auto Way Bowl in Minden.

Since his childhood, John has been a lover of the Dragon Ball Z anime series and was sad that he would not be able to live out the Life Code from Master Roshi he was following: "Work Hard, Study Well, Eat and Sleep Plenty. That is the Turtle Hermit Way!"

Survivors include his parents Howard and Colleen Maxon, and brothers Paul and Luke all of Minden. Numerous Uncles, Aunts, cousins, extended relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by Grandparents Adrian ("Snow") and Eleanor Maxon, Paul and Carolyn Boerkircher and many extended relatives.
