Karen M. Haglund, 84, of Axtell, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Mosaic at Bethphage Village in Axtell. Celebration of Life Kingdom Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Zion Chapel at Mosaic in Axtell with Rev. John Gosswein officiating. Interment will be held following the service at the Mosaic Cemetery. Memorials in Karen's honor are kindly suggested to Mosaic at Bethphage Village in Axtell. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Karen was born on September 24, 1941, in Minneapolis, MN to Edward R. and Ellen E. (Swanson) Haglund. She grew up in south Minneapolis. Her parents were instrumental in forming a school where Karen and other children were able to gain an education. That school, The Fraser School, is still in existence today serving countless students with special abilities.

Having been raised in a Lutheran family, Karen's parents were strong supporters of Bethphage Mission in Axtell where Karen eventually moved to at the age of 20. Karen loved music and dancing. Her parents enjoyed taking her to Friday night dances at the Y in Minneapolis. While Karen couldn't communicate verbally, she easily let you know her thoughts through her actions. She also had a love for animals. At the time of her passing, Karen was one of Mosaic's longest living residents at the campus in Axtell.

Those left to cherish her memory include her twin sister, Karol Hagberg and husband Don; nephew, D.J. Hagberg and wife Rachel Cruz; great niece, Anna Grace Hagberg; great nephew, Noah Cruz; as well as a host of extended relatives and members of the Mosaic family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
