Katherine “Kathy” J. Conyers, 67, of Minden, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, at CHI Health - Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Craig Funeral Home in Minden with Rev. Daren Popple officiating. Inurnment will be held following the service at the Minden Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials in Kathy’s honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Katherine “Kathy” J. Conyers was born on September 27, 1958, in Minden to Ivan W. and May B. (Seifert) Conyers. She grew up in Minden, graduating from Minden High School. In 1980, Kathy was united in marriage to George Thompson and to this union two children were born: Tami and Brian. She later married Matt Richardson in 2007.

She made her home in Minden, where she was employed in the medical field as a CNA at Bethany Home and Long-Term Care before retiring due to medical reasons.

Kathy enjoyed listening to oldies music and completing word search puzzles, which she called her “circle books”. She had an exceptional green thumb and loved tending to her house plants. Kathy had a feisty side and an unmatched will to live. Despite losing both of her legs, she never gave up.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Tami (Eric) Nelson of Axtell; son, Brian Thompson of Kearney; grandchildren, Karissa and Ashlynn Nelson; mother, May Conyers of Minden; brother, Mike (Lori) Conyers of Minden; sisters, Mary (Kim) Carver of Minden and Sandra Conyers of Kearney; as well as extended family and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ivan.
