Laura Lea (Black) Jensen was born on December 2, 1960 in Minden to Claude and Barbara (Larson) Black. She graduated from Hildreth Public Schools in 1979. She worked at Holdrege Dental Clinic as a dental assistant before graduating from nursing school in 1995 . After college, she began working at Kearney County Health Services before starting at Platte Valley Medical Group, where she worked for over 25 years. She touched many lives throughout her nursing career.
Her love for her grandchildren was endless. She never missed a sporting event, church program, or cattle show. Laura also loved going on trips and being with her significant other, Paul. After work, she could usually be found tending to her beautiful flower gardens and greenhouse. If you knew her well, you knew she was a fighter and always had a smile on her face!
She is survived by her life partner, Paul Nielsen; children, Alan (Misty) Casper and their children, Chase and Brooke; Angie (Randall) Horine and their children, Addison and Clayton; Jordan Jensen (Raneem); Hailey (Daniel) Knispel and their children, Alivia and Layna; and Colin Nielsen; sister, Linda Black (Dennis Baack); brothers, Dave (Grace) Black and Kendall (Kathryn) Black; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives, and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Barbara Black, and stepmother, Gloria Black.
