LaVon J. Tobiassen, 74, of Hildreth, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Mother Hull Home in Kearney. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church, west of Macon with Rev. Marcia Dorn officiating. Interment will be held following the service at the Hildreth Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Craig Funeral Home – Jelden Chapel in Hildreth. Memorials in LaVon's honor are kindly suggested to Zion Lutheran Church in Macon or the Hildreth Volunteer Fire Department. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.
LaVon Jack Tobiassen was born on October 16, 1950 in Franklin to Albert H. and LaVonda J. (Schnuerle) Tobiassen. He grew up in the Franklin area and graduated from Franklin Public School, before attending Hastings Central Community College.
He was united in marriage to Marla Lindau, and to this union two children were born: Kelli and Casey. The couple later divorced. The family made their home in Hildreth, where he was employed by Lindau Farms and farmed on his family farm for many years. LaVon was later married to Laura Ludeke, and the couple later divorced.
LaVon was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Macon. He enjoyed driving around Hildreth and waving at everyone, as he didn't know a stranger. LaVon loved spending time with his family and attending all the grandchildren's ball games, he never missed a game.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Casey Tobiassen (Mary Johnson) of Hildreth; daughter, Kelli (Jamie) Nickel of Axtell; grandchildren, Nathan (Jesse) Nickel, Cody Nickel (Bobbi Barnes), Bryce Tobiassen (Carlie Rupe), Emmett Kassing and Haven Tobiassen; great-grandchildren, Tobiassen Nickel, and one on the way; as well as a host of extended relatives and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Tobiassen.
