Lenard L. Adam, 80, of Hildreth, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hildreth with Rev. Caroline Schenk officiating. The service will be streamed to the church's YouTube page. Inurnment will be held following the service at the Hildreth Cemetery. There will be no visitation or book signing. Memorials in Lenard's honor are kindly suggested to the Hildreth Volunteer Fire Department or to Trinity Lutheran Church in Hildreth. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.
Lenard Lee Adam was born on November 1, 1944, in Franklin, Nebraska to John F. and Flora J. (Saathoff) Adam. He grew up in the Macon area and attended school at Macon and Hildreth, graduating with the Hildreth class of 1963. He later graduated from Central Community College in Hastings in 1972. On May 26, 1962, he was united in marriage to Shannon M. Whipple, and to this union, three children were born: Shiela, Craig, and Nicole.
The family made their home in Hildreth. Lenard was employed for many years with the Eaton Corporation in Kearney before retiring. The family also lived in Minden. Lenard was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hildreth. He enjoyed cooking (especially trying new recipes), fishing, going to the casino and spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Shannon of Hildreth; children, Shiela (John) Foster, Craig Adam, and Nicole (Kevin) Bumgardner; 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; brother, Darrel (Ruby) Adam; sister, Eunice Bienhoff; brother and sister-in-law, Kerry (Carolee) Whipple; sister-in-law, Pat Adam; step-father-in-law, Larry Rice; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; youngest brother, Daniel Adam; father and mother-in-law, Ivan and Lola Whipple; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald Loschen, Sharron Loschen, Lamoine Hemje, and LaVon Bienhoff.
