Linda Lou (Anderson) Johnson was born on November 5, 1940, in Minden, Nebraska to Walfred and Anna (Rasmussen) Anderson, the youngest of 7 children. She was baptized and confirmed into faith at the Westminster United Presbyterian church in Minden. She graduated from Minden High School with the class of 1958 and remained lifelong friends with many of her classmates. After graduation, she moved to Laramie, Wyoming for a brief time, where she worked at the Dairy Queen. Upon moving back to Minden, she also worked for a while as an operator for the local telephone company.

Linda met the love of her life, LaVern Johnson, at the skating rink in Minden. Their friendship quickly grew into romance, and they were united in marriage on August 28, 1960, at the Presbyterian Church in Minden. Their union was blessed with two children: Timothy and Kristin. They made their first home out on the farm. As a town-girl, Linda quickly learned about the challenges of living in a house without indoor plumbing. She often joked that she was one of the last real pioneers! It was a happy day in 1966 when they moved to the "home place," where they continued to live and love together for the rest of their lives.

Linda was a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Campbell, where she was active in the Presbyterian Women's Organization. She was a typical farm wife, farm bookkeeper and parts runner, while also serving as a loving mother to her two children. Once her children were older, she took a job working at the grocery store in Campbell. After the grocery store closed, she worked as a cook at Bethany Home in Minden. Linda was an excellent cook and the residents, as well as her family, benefited from it. Linda was famous for her chocolate chip cookies. While many tried, no one could make them better. When someone would ask for her recipe, she would smile and tell them it was printed on the chocolate chip package. Of course, she had her secrets about how to make those cookies even better, but she took them with her to the grave.

Linda was an awesome Grandma to her six grandchildren. When the great-grandchildren started coming along, she was excited to take on the title of "Gigi," which was short for Great Grandma. She was affectionately known by this name for the rest of her life. It doesn't matter if you refer to this term as a noun or an adjective … either way she was definitely a GREAT grandmother, and she will be sorely missed by those who loved her.

Linda received her greatest reward on April 15, 2025, when she joined her Lord, and her husband Lavern in Heaven. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Timothy and wife Pamela of Upland; daughter Kristin Johnson of Cookeville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Brittany (Wade) Crawford and children: Audrey, William, Natalie and Clara of Sundance, Wyoming; Jake (Alex) Johnson and children: Sophie, Henry and Wesley of Sundance, Wyoming; Lance Johnson (friend Callie Salm and her children, Raylee and Dawson) of Minden, Nebraska; Austin (Jenae) Johnson of Lincoln, Nebraska; Katie Keen and children: Chloe and Waylon of Cookeville, Tennessee; and Leslie (Josh) Hutchings and children: Declan and Finn of Sparta, Tennessee; and sister-in-law, Annette Kuehn of Heartwell, Nebraska

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and in-laws, 4 sisters, 2 brothers, and 5 brothers-in-law.
