Lois A. Christensen, 82 years of age from Minden, NE passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Bethany Home in Minden. Celebration of Life Services will be on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden with Rev. Donald Hunzeker officiating at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery prior to the Celebration Service. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the Craig Funeral Home in Minden from 5-7 p.m.
Lois was born on April 2, 1934 in Minden to Paul A. and Ada (Cederburg) Nelson. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church south of Axtell. Lois attended rural school until 8th grade and then graduated from Minden High School in 1951. She was employed by the Minden Exchange Bank in Minden for a short time.
On February 7, 1954, she married Vernon L. Christensen at Bethany Lutheran Church south of Axtell. They were blessed with three children, Sheila, Julie and Terry. They lived and farmed in the Minden area since 1955.
Lois was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden; where she enjoyed the fellowship and friendship of her church family. She enjoyed singing hymns and reading the lessons during services. Lois was a member of Chapter N PEO, Double "L" Club, the Chordettes, Volunteer Service League, and was a former member of the Minden Garden Club and Mrs. Jaycee's. Lois also loved playing cards.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon of Minden; children, Sheila Stubbs and husband, Randy of Lincoln, Julie Zoerb and husband, Dean of Minden; and Terry Christensen and wife, Brenda of Minden; six grandsons, Ryan Minert, Brock Minert, Nicholas Albers, Jacob Albers, Collin Martin and Tanner Gibb; three great granddaughters, Olivia Minert, Molly Minert and Kylie Albers; great grandson, Mason Martin and two sisters, Lavonne Grassmeyer of Columbus and Marlys Lundeen of Minden. Lois is preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Emma Nelson; two step sisters, Marjorie Hartman and Willa Reye Kokes; son in-law, Clyde Albers and great grandson, Kolten Albers.
