Lois I. Hansen

Lois I. Hansen, 90, of Minden, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Bethany Home in Minden. Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden with the Rev. Donald Hunzeker and PMA Julie Schmidt officiating. Interment will be held following the service at the Minden Cemetery. The service will be live-streamed to the funeral home’s Facebook page. There will be no visitation. Memorials in Lois’ honor are kindly suggested to Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden or to Bethany Home in Minden. Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of the arrangements. Lois Irene Hansen was born on March 28, 1931 in Nora, Nebraska to Charles and Frieda (Tambke) Frahm. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Salem Lutheran Church near Superior and graduated from Superior High School in 1949. She was united in marriage to Neil K. Hansen on December 6, 1950, and to this union, five children were born: Sandra, Charlene, Pamela, Paula, and Brian. The family made their home in many states before moving back to Minden in 1967 where Lois was employed at Grayson Tool, Pioneer Restaurant, and in the Deli at Jack and Jill’s until she retired in 1997. Lois was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden and was known for her wonderful sense of humor and light hearted approach to life. She loved woodworking, cooking, canning, baking, and trying new recipes. She also had a passion for sewing. Lois made many outfits for her children in their younger years. She also took pride in making a special quilt for each grandchild for their high school graduation. Lois had a heart of gold and touched countless lives with her loving approach. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Sandi (Charles) Lewis, Charlene (Cal) Rogers, Pam Gardels, Paula (Kevin) Hulke and Brian (Kris) Hansen; grandchildren, Trish (Ed) Lopacienski, Tysie (Cale) Cournoyer, Melissa (John) Bell, Miranda (Andrew) Obermeier, Nathan (Breanna) Gardels, Zac (Kristina) Petersen and Conor Hansen; great-grandchildren, Max and Abe Lopacienski, Ruby, Scout and Jay Bell, Charlie Obermeier and Oliver Petersen; brothers, Dale (Pat) Frahm, Bob Frahm; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son-in-law Mike Gardels, grandson Brett Gardels and sister Rosie Andersen.
