Obituary

Lynette "Myrtle" M. Lupkes, 70, of rural Minden, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Campbell with Fr. Adam Sparling officiating. Private family inurnment will be held later that day at the Juniata Cemetery. A memorial book signing will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home in Minden with a Rosary service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials in Lynette's honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Lynette Marie Lupkes was born on March 24, 1952 in Slayton, MN to Leo J. and Catherine M. (Van Dam) Persing. She grew up in the Wilmont and Worthington area, attending Our Lady of Good Counsel in Wilmont, MN then graduated from Worthington High School with the class of 1970.

She was united in marriage to William "Bill" D. Lupkes on July 18, 1970 in Wilmont, MN and to this union 3 sons were born: Shawn, Curtis and Craig. Lynette and Bill moved to Minden, NE in 1971, where the family made their home. In 1994, the family welcomed a foster son, CJ Ewertz, into the family. She was employed by the Pioneer Village Restaurant, Upland Grain Coop, Cargil and Mower Medic. Lynette retired in 2014 but continued to work part-time for a few years.

Lynette was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Campbell. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, canning, playing cards, sewing with her sisters, camping, and spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons: Shawn (Mandi) Lupkes of Minden, Curt (Cassidy) Lupkes of Minden, Craig (Jenni) Lupkes of Minden; adopted son, Chris "CJ" (Samantha) Ewertz of Brush, CO; grandchildren, Tyson (Chelsie) Brown, Gage Lupkes, Gavin Lupkes, Linda (Jerimya) Layton, Forest Caldwell, Damian (Kasie) Vogt, Wyndser Lupkes, and Evan Ewertz; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Leland (Judy) Persing; sisters, Kathleen Bullerman, Lois Bullerman, Colleen Somnis, Marian (Dan) Diekmann, Phyllis (Tom) Scholtes, JoAnn(Rod) Burkard, and LeAnn (Doug) Onken; sister-in-law, Theresa Persing; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; brothers, Leonard Persing and Vince Persing; sister, Eileen Petersen; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Bullerman, Lorne Bullerman, Larry Petersen, and Dennis Somnis.
