Margaret "Peggy" Brooks, 86 years of age from Minden, Nebraska died on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Kearney County Health Services, LTC in Minden. Funeral services will be on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Minden at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul Blanchard officiating. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery. Visitation get will be at the Craig Funeral Home in Minden on Thursday from 4-6 p.m.
Peggy was born on October 2, 1930 in Minden to Charles Ross and Susan (Favinger) Keedle. She grew up in the Axtell-Minden area and graduated from Axtell High School.
On April 26, 1950 she married Gene Brooks, and they lived and farmed northwest of Minden. Peggy was a member of the United Methodist Church in Minden. Peggy loved working with her husband on the farm and working with livestock. She enjoyed birds and the quietness of farm life. Peggy was an excellent cook and baker. She sewed and did fancy work, making many items for friends and family. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church, White Hill Cemetery or the Kearney County Health Services-LTC all in Minden.
Survivors include son, Bryon Brooks and special friend, Deb Clinebell of Kearney; two daughters, Kim Sharp of Minden and Gail Loeffelholz and husband, Allen of Minden; four grandchildren, Lucas Sharp and wife, Kelsey, Katie Sharp and fiancée, Robert Gardner, and Philip and Teresa Loeffelholz; 2 great grandsons, Hunter and Logan Sharp; sister, Nancy Buss and husband, Wayne of Cheyenne, brothers in-law, Melvin Reiss of Minden and Harry Brooks and wife, Irene of Hutchinson, KS and sister in-law, Dora Horsley of Minden. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene, sister Faye, brother, Eugene, brothers in-law Milton Brooks, Richard Brooks and his wife, Millie and Melvin Horsley
