Edith Nellie "Marie" Choquette, 97, formerly of Upland, Nebraska passed peacefully to eternal life on July 12, 2025, at Bethany Home in Minden, Nebraska.

Marie was born on September 27, 1927 in rural Lawrence, Nebraska to William and Dorothy "Ostdiek" Hoelting. She was the seventh of thirteen children. She attended St. Stephen Catholic School in Lawrence, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Adrian Choquette on June 21, 1955 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. The couple resided on a farm for 63 years near Upland, Nebraska before moving to Bethany Home in Minden, Nebraska in 2018. They celebrated 67 years of marriage before Adrian's passing.

Marie was also raised on a farm working hard all of her life. She was always in the kitchen making meals from the chickens and livestock they raised and canning produce from her garden and fruit trees. She was an avid reader. But what she loved most was spending time with her family.

Marie and her deceased husband, Adrian, had six children; Kevin (Connie), Lori (Tim) Trompke, Janelle (Marty) Bohan, Cindy (Phil) Scharber, Kerwin, and Scott (Jenny). She has thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; Kelsey (Ashley) Wirth, Alexia and Kyle; Adrianna (Brian) Choquette-Hoffart, Otis and Dottie; Spencer (Erika) Choquette, Grayson, Saige (d), Willis, Graham and Judah; Brooke (Alex) Mwangi, Benedict; Gabrielle(Brent) Snodgrass, Nathan, Joshua and Chloe; Marissa (Adam) Vandenberg, Alice, Mary and Lucy; Paden and Ashley Scharber; Cassandra (Trevor) Fecht, Kannon and Asher; Jacob (Erin) Choquette, Merritt; Collin Choquette; Elizabeth and Claire Choquette. Marie has one remaining sibling, brother Leonard Hoelting, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Edwin and Pat Choquette, Richard and Donna Choquette, and many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws Emile and Marian Choquette and husband, Adrian. As well as her brothers and their wives; Daniel (Alma), Leroy (Irene), Vernon, Arthur, Francis (Ann), Richard (Doris), Infant brother, Eldon (Jolene) and Victor (Kay) Hoelting. Her sisters and their husbands; Eva (Norbert) Krebsbach and Eileen (Edgar) Buescher, sister-in-law Imelda Hoelting; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Bernice (Jim) Blystone and Bernard (Lucille) Choquette; son-in-law Tim Trompke and infant great granddaughter Saige Choquette.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2025, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Campbell, Nebraska with Fr. Douglas Dietrich and Fr. Evan Winter officiating. Interment will be held following the service at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery near Campbell. Visitation, with family present, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Campbell with Rosary at 4 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Marie was an active member of the St. Anne Catholic Church Altar Society.
