Marilyn was born on January 20, 1928 on the family farm near Newark, Nebraska. Her parents were Cort William Muller and Neva Pearl (Bloodgood) Muller. She was brought up in the Newark Methodist Church. She attended elementary school at Newark and at Olive Branch country school. She attended high school in Kearney, Nebraska, graduating in 1945. After attending the University of Nebraska Lincoln, she pursued a nursing career at the St. Luke's Hospital nursing school in Denver, Colorado. She graduated in 1950 as a Registered Nurse. She began her nursing career in Denver; then moved to Casper, Wyoming; and later she worked at the Minden Hospital for 18 years.

On October 14, 1951, she married Philip Wayne Anderbery at the Methodist Church in Minden, Nebraska. To this union were born five children, Bruce of Axtell, Jan (Byron) Rapp of Wadestown, West Virginia, Lee (Janet), of Lincoln, Nebraska, Wayne of Axtell, and Dale (Sue) of Findlay, Ohio. They lived and farmed near Axtell, Nebraska. In 1992, they moved to Kearney, and in 2013, to Bethany Home in Minden.

After their marriage, she became an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church near Axtell, active in LCW and Women's Circle, serving as a Sunday School teacher, and helping with many of Bethany's Midsummer Picnics. She was also a member of the Nebraska Nurses Association, Busy Susan's Extension Club, Women's Club, Red Hat Society, and the Kearney Kiwanis Club. She was active in the Nebraska China Painters for nearly 40 years, serving as President during part of that time. She was a 4-H leader, and also served as a Cub Scout leader.

Together, Marilyn and Phil traveled to many places throughout the United States, Canada, Alaska, Mexico, and the Caribbean. In 1979, they visited the European countries of Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and Leichtenstein. She also visited China in 1997. Marilyn kept travel journals for every trip she took. They also loved to go camping, especially at Sunlight Basin in Wyoming. After retirement, they spent many winters camping at Canyon Lake, Texas.

Marilyn was very creative, and throughout her life designed many beautiful things. She specially enjoyed painting ceramics and china. Everyone who knew her will remember her unending sense of humor.
