Marilyn R. McKinney, 89, of Axtell passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Mosaic in Axtell. Celebration of life services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Zion Chapel at Mosaic in Axtell with the Rev. John Gosswein officiating. Private family interment will be held prior to services. Memorials in Marilyn's honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Marilyn Rita McKinney was born on July 1, 1933 in Merna, Nebraska to Clarke W. and Mabel R. (Smith) McKinney. She grew up in Merna and moved to Bethphage Mission in Axtell after her parents passed away. She continued to reside at Bethphage through its transition to Mosaic, where she met several close friends.

Marilyn's hobbies included listening to music, playing with her toy horses, baby dolls, coloring vivid pictures and of course…drinking coffee! Marilyn was an amazing person and any bad day could be made better by a simple visit with her. She will be fondly remembered by her signature phrase: "Ohhhh…okay".

Those left to cherish her memory include her guardian Torrina (Jerry) Green of Upland, several nephews and extended relatives, along with the many friends and caregivers from Mosaic.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Vincent C. McKinney, killed in action during World War II.
