Marjorie Elaine (Anderson) Westesen, 88, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026, in Kearney. Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 11:00a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden with Rev. Donald Hunzeker and PMA Julie Schmidt officiating. The service will be streamed to the church’s YouTube page. Private family burial will be held at the Minden Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Kearney Tackles Cancer or Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden. Arrangements are under the care of Craig Funeral Home in Minden.

Marjorie Elaine (Anderson) Westesen was born on November 11, 1937 to David and Margaret (Monk) Anderson on their farm southwest of Minden. She joined her brother Robert at home. As a child she enjoyed taking care of her pets, visiting neighbors, playing with her dolls and skating with her brother. She attended District 48 Country School for a few years in elementary school. She graduated from Minden High School in 1955. She worked as a waitress and stenographer after graduation.

On one visit to the skating rink, she met John Robert “JR” Westesen. They were married on November 25, 1956 and honeymooned in the Ozarks. They raised their three children on the farm between Minden and Kearney, where they lived and worked for over 60 years. JR and Marge moved into Kearney in early 2020. They were married for 68 years, until JR’s death in 2025.

Marge was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and belonged to the church circle, card club, served as a 4H leader, and helped on the farm as needed. She spent a lot of time with her grandchildren - attending their activities, playing cards, feeding them her chocolate chip cookies, and having tea parties with her granddaughters. Her family was the light of her life and she so enjoyed her nine great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her, sons, David (Beth) Westesen and Jay (Lisa) Westesen; son-in-law Steve (Ronda) Rockefeller, grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan) Haack, Laura (Aaron) Pullmann, Jacklyn (Brian) Norman, Emily (John) Bengtson, Jackson Westesen (Brie Meyer), Christian Westesen and Creighton Westesen; and her great-grandchildren Katherine, Brooke, Makenzie, Michael, Ryker, Martin, Charlie, Blake and Rhett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brother, daughter Debra Rockefeller, and a grandson, Scott Rockefeller.
